Hot TV News Anchors & Reporters

Number 1 - Karen Chetry - CNN.

Kiran (whose name is Sanskrit for "rays of sunshine") was born in Shanta Bhawan Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. Seven months later, her parents, Homa and Nancy (who met while serving in the Peace Corps in Nepal), moved their family to America. Kiran grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland and attended Montgomery Blair High School (Silver Spring, Maryland) .

Kiran is married to Chris Knowles, former Fox News Channel and current New York City's WPIX-TV weekend weatherman.

She also worked as a morning anchor and reporter for KXTV in Sacramento, California.

Number 2 Stella Inger - CBS

Stella Inger is an Emmy-nominated news reporter. Born in Russia, Stella grew up in Encino California. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in broadcast journalism. Before becoming a journalist, Stella worked as a personal banker. She has a passion for news and wants to be the voice for those who are not heard.

Stella reports for CBS 2 in Palm Desert prior to that she wored for KESQ-TV (ABC-TV) in Palm Desert, California. In June 2007, she was nominated for an Emmy, for reporting on Americans who converted to Islam post 9/11. Inger has also made extensive original investigative reports. Before reporting for KESQ-TV, Stella was a reporter for KXLF-TV in Bozeman, Montana.

One of Stella's most memorable stories in Montana was an interview with the legendary stuntman Evel Knievel. She was also a daredevil herself, taking the chance of flying in a 1922 fighter plane while covering an air show.






















Number 3 - Elizabeth Espinosa - FOX 11 News

Elizabeth Espinosa is a general assignment reporter for FOX 11 News. She also serves as weather anchor on KTTV FOX 11's "Good Day LA Weekend."

Ms. Espinosa was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is no stranger to reporting in Los Angeles; she joined Fox 11 KTTV from Univision's flagship station, KMEX 34. At Univision, she worked as a general assignment reporter responsible for spot, feature, and investigative pieces.

Prior to KMEX, Ms. Espinosa was reporting and anchoring for XETV 6, the San Diego Fox affiliate. She was part of the news team that launched a three-hour morning show and mid-day newscast. Aside from producing and enterprising investigative stories, she also hosted a weekly movie review segment on the "Fox Morning Show".

Ms. Espinosa spent part of her career in the Bay Area working as a television news reporter for Telemundo's O&O San Francisco/San Jose/Oakland affiliate. Fortunately for her, she was able to begin her career in broadcast journalism here in Los Angeles. In 1998, Elizabeth was hired as assignment desk editor at another station in Los Angeles, KVEA 52 Telemundo. Following that assignment, she was promoted to a position as the West Coast producer for "Ocurrio Asi," an international news magazine show.

Elizabeth is multi-lingual; she speaks Spanish, French, Italian and ASL (American Sign Language). She graduated from UCLA in 1997 with her Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations, and was later accepted to USF Law School and offered a scholarship.


Number 4 - Betty Nguyen CNN




Betty Nguyen is a news anchor for CNN/U.S. Based in the

network's world headquarters in Atlanta, Nguyen joined the

network in April 2004 and anchors the weekend edition of CNN Newsroom.

Nguyen has anchored during several breaking news events, including the death of Pope John Paul II in April 2005 and the

London bombing attacks in July 2005. She also anchored portions of CNN’s coverage of the tsunami disaster in South Asia, the Iraqi elections in January 2005 and the June 28, 2004, handover of sovereignty to Iraq.



Before joining CNN, Nguyen was an anchor for KTVT in Dallas. During her six-year tenure with the CBS affiliate, she covered numerous breaking news events including the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center towers in New York. In 2003, she won the Legacy of Women Award, was named a Great Women of Texas Honoree and won a regional Emmy award for "Outstanding Noon Newscast" while at KTVT.

Nguyen began her career as a morning anchor and reporter at KWTX in Waco, Texas. During her tenure with the CBS affiliate, she received an Associated Press Award for spot news coverage.

Nguyen also served as a freelance correspondent for E! Entertainment Television during the 2003 California gubernatorial election.

Nguyen graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. She is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association.

Number 5 Erin Andrews

Erin Andrews (born on May 4, 1978 in Boston, Massachusetts) is a television sports reporter.

Andrews joined ESPN in May 2004 as a reporter for the network's National Hockey League coverage. Since the 2004 season, Andrews has served as a reporter for the ESPN College Football Saturday telecast, the Saturday Primetime college basketball game and Big Ten college basketball coverage.

In 2005, she added Major League Baseball sideline reporting to her duties. She also provides reports and features on Great Outdoor Games coverage.

Andrews graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in telecommunications in 2000. While there she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Andrews was also a member of the Dazzlers, the Gator basketball dance team, from 1997-200
